Sarsen Stone
Sarsen Stone, found predominently in Oxfordshire and Wiltshire, is famous as the principal stone used for the prehistoric monuments at Stonehenge and Avebury.
It is an extemely hard sandstone. As a result, Sarson Stone stones are typically very irregular – sometimes almost wierd – in shape.
